Job Summary

The Loan Officer will be responsible for identifying, assessing, and managing loan clients. This role involves client recruitment, credit appraisal, loan disbursement, monitoring repayments, and ensuring portfolio quality.

Key Responsibilities

• Identify potential loan clients and promote loan products in target communities.

• Conduct credit appraisals, including business and household assessments.

• Process loan applications in line with organizational policies.

• Ensure timely disbursement of approved loans.

• Monitor loan utilization and conduct regular follow-up visits.

• Maintain high portfolio quality by minimizing defaults.

• Build and maintain strong client relationships.

• Prepare accurate loan reports and submit timely updates to management.

Qualifications & Skills

• OND/HND/B.Sc. in Business, Finance, Economics, or related field.

• 1–3 years’ experience in microfinance, lending, or community development (preferred).

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

• Ability to mobilize and engage with communities.

• Basic knowledge of credit principles and risk management.

• Proficiency in MS Office and record-keeping.

• Integrity, accountability, and attention to detail.

• Ability to ride a motorcycle (an added advantage in rural areas).
